Expert biography
Dominika Dudek is Professor of Psychiatry at the Jagiellonian University Medical College, Kraków, Poland and Head of the Department of Adult Psychiatry.
After completing her medical degree at the Medical Academy, Kraków, Poland, she specialised in psychiatry and was subsequently appointed Head of the Department of Affective Disorders and Chair of Psychiatry at Jagiellonian University Medical College. Since 2017, she has been Head of the Department of Adult Psychiatry.
Her primary research interests are focused in the area of depressive and bipolar spectrum disorders. Among other research activities, Professor Dudek has contributed to a notable study on the correlates of treatment-resistant depression (TRES-DEP). She has served in the editorial boards of the following psychiatric journals and publishing houses: Psychiatria Polska (Editor-In-Chief), Biblioteka Psychiatrii Polskiej, Archives of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Lęk i Depresja, Medycyna Praktyczna – Psychiatria, Wiadomości Psychiatryczne, Neuropsychiatria i Neuropsychologia, and Farmakoterapia w Psychiatrii i Neurologii. She has also been an active member of the following scientific societies: Polskie Towarzystwo Psychiatryczne, the International Society of Bipolar Disorders, Polsko-Izraelskie Towarzystwo Zdrowia Psychicznego and Centrum Kopernika Badań Interdyscyplinarnych (section of neurobiology).
