Expert biography

Emilie Olié is Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatric Emergency and Post- acute Care at the University Hospital of Montpellier and at the University of Montpellier in France. She is head of a specialist clinic dedicated to mood disorders, is co-coordinator of the French Network of Expertise Centers for Bipolar Disorder, FondaMental Foundation, and is also an active researcher in the Environment, Biomarkers and Neuropsychiatry team at the Institute of Functional Genomics in France.

Professor Olié conducts studies to better understand suicidal vulnerability, focusing on social and psychological pain, using clinical, neuropsychological and neuroimaging tools. In addition, she conducts studies to develop innovative psychotherapeutic strategies in patients with suicidal behaviour and/or mood disorders. She was involved in the ASPIRE-II esketamine study as an investigator. She also coordinates the Section for Suicides Study of the French Association of Biological Psychiatry and Neuropharmacology and is a member of the EPA Section of Suicidology and Suicide Prevention.
